How It's Made

Clay Preparation
Special clay from the Kütahya region is kneaded with water to remove air bubbles.

Shaping
Clay is shaped into the appetizer dish form using a mold and the surface is smoothed.

First Drying
The shaped piece is left to dry naturally in the shade for 24-48 hours.

First Firing (Bisque)
The dried piece is fired at 900°C for bisque firing. This stage gives the ceramic its durability.

Hand Painting
The master painter hand-paints İznik hyacinth motifs one by one with fine brushes. Cobalt blue and turquoise tones are used.

Glazing
The painted surface is coated with transparent glaze. The glaze protects the colors and makes the surface waterproof.
7
Final Firing
The glazed piece undergoes final firing at 1050°C. Colors become vivid and the glaze shines like glass.
